Our Story
Two men who stepped out of the 8 to 5 and into their purpose.
Daniel and Owen Baughman build pieces families keep and hand down. That is the reason they quit their jobs, not a line written for a website.
Daniel Baughman
It started with a sign, and a week that changed him.
Daniel picked up woodworking more than ten years ago, after an event called Quest, run by Fellowship of the Sword ministries. He came home from it and started making things.
His favourite work is still the same as it was then: handcrafted, hand-routed wooden signs. Letters cut by hand, one pass at a time. A table pays the bills. A sign is where he goes to think.
Owen Baughman
Ten years in construction, and one strong opinion about dinner.
Owen has over a decade in all forms of construction. Framing, finish, the parts nobody photographs. He knows what holds and what only looks like it holds.
“Growing up the dinner table was where the family was able to connect on a regular basis. I truly enjoy providing a service that enables other families to do the same.”Owen Baughman
The name
Why we are called Signs & Wonders
“God also bore witness by signs and wonders and various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.”Hebrews 2:4
The name comes from that verse. It is also a bit of a play on words. Daniel started this business making signs, hand-routed letters in solid wood, one at a time in a garage.
Everything that came after is the Wonders: the tables, the benches, the Legacy Projects, the sawmill, and the kiln. The signs came first, and we still make them.

Wolfe City, Texas
It began in a garage. It did not stay there.
Signs & Wonders is a locally owned, garage-started furniture company. Everything you see was built up one order at a time, by people who answer their own phone.
In July 2021 the business moved into the current workshop and showroom at 4882 CR 3735 in Wolfe City, about an hour and fifteen minutes from Dallas. The mill, the kiln, the benches, and the showroom floor all sit on the same piece of ground.
That matters more than it sounds. When somebody asks where the wood came from, the answer is usually a direction and a distance, not a supplier code.
The motto
Legacy, Craftsmanship, and Service
Three words, and the order they come in is not an accident.
- 01
Legacy
Every family needs a place to gather and connect. That is what a table is for. We build the one your people keep coming back to, and we build it to outlast us both.
Ecclesiastes 8:15
- 02
Craftsmanship
The joint you cannot see gets the same attention as the top you can. If it is not right, it does not leave the shop.
“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.”
Colossians 3:23–24
- 03
Service
We aim to shine the light of Jesus through everyday personal interactions, with every customer, on every job, whether the order is a ten-foot table or a single cutting board.
What that means for you
You are buying a table from the people who built it.
Not a brand, not a warehouse, not a chat window. Call 972-837-6974 and Daniel or Owen picks it up. Come to the shop and the person showing you stain samples is the person who will be putting them on your top.
