Daniel & Owen Baughman
A father and son who left their jobs to build things that outlast them.
Daniel picked up woodworking over ten years ago and never put it down. Hand-routed signs first, then furniture. Owen came out of a decade in construction with a stubborn opinion about what “well built” actually means.
They built the business out of a garage. In July 2021 it moved into the shop and showroom on CR 3735, where the mill, the kiln, and the benches all sit on the same piece of ground.

What a sawmill changes
Most furniture companies buy boards. We make them.
That one difference decides the grain, the thickness, the dryness, and the price. Here is the whole path.
The log arrives
Sometimes off a customer's own land, sometimes from a storm-fallen tree a neighbor called us about. Either way it starts as a log in the yard, not a pallet off a truck.
We mill it ourselves
Our own sawmill. We open the log, read the grain, and cut for the piece we intend to build. Nobody downstream decides what your table looks like.
Into the vacuum kiln
Wet lumber moves and cracks. Our vacuum kiln dries it down to furniture-grade moisture content in a fraction of the time an air-dry stack takes, and far more evenly.
Built by two sets of hands
Daniel and Owen. Joined, sanded, stained, and finished in the shop in Wolfe City. Then you come pick it up, or we bring it to you.
Legacy Projects
The pecan that came down in the yard can still be at dinner.
A Legacy Project starts with a tree you already have a history with. Storm took it down, the fence line needed clearing, or it was simply time. The log comes to our mill, where we saw it, dry it in the vacuum kiln, and build it into a table, a bench, or a mantel for the same house it grew beside.
