What we see in Fort Worth houses
Fort Worth already understands what we do. It is a city with a working cattle history, a serious art district, and a housing stock that runs from Craftsman bungalows on the near south side to new construction out west, and almost none of it wants furniture that looks like it came off a container.
Near Southside and Fairmount hold some of the best preserved Craftsman and bungalow stock in Texas. Around TCU the rebuilds lean traditional brick. West of the city the lots get bigger and the great rooms get taller.
How our work fits
Building for a Fort Worth room specifically
The same table is right in one house and wrong in the next. This is what we change, and why.
Craftsman houses were built around visible joinery, so in Fairmount we leave the construction legible: through tenons, breadboard ends, a finish that lets you read the grain instead of burying it under gloss. Out west, where the ceilings run twelve feet and up, a normal dining table disappears. Those rooms want a thicker top, two and a half inches or more, and a base with real mass, or the piece looks like a model of itself.

If one came down in a storm, or one is coming out for a pool or an addition, we would rather look at the log than hear it went to the chipper. Bring it to our mill and we saw it, dry it in our kiln, and build it into the piece for the house it grew beside. Send us a photo first and we will tell you if there is a table in it.
