The same table is right in one house and wrong in the next. This is what we change, and why.
When the island is stone and the cabinetry is painted, the room has no warmth in it. A hardwood table, or better, a hardwood island top on a secondary prep island, is the piece that keeps a very expensive kitchen from feeling like a showroom. We build the island tops to the cabinet drawings, not to catalog widths, which matters here because nothing in a Southlake kitchen is a standard size.

If one came down in a storm, or one is coming out for a pool or an addition, we would rather look at the log than hear it went to the chipper. Bring it to our mill and we saw it, dry it in our kiln, and build it into the piece for the house it grew beside. Send us a photo first and we will tell you if there is a table in it.
