About this piece
This is the Keahey family's story. We built a sofa table for Carol from pecan wood off a tree that once stood on her family's property in Canton, Texas. Carol and her siblings, Mark and Kaytricia, each commissioned a piece from the same tree.
The story
- As children, they picked pecans under that tree with their father on Sunday mornings after church.
- Afterward they shelled the pecans together inside while watching the Cowboys game.
- Their father has since passed, and the tree stood as a symbol of his love.
- A windstorm in late summer 2024 brought it down. That is when the Keaheys called us.
We removed the tree carefully and kept its best parts to build heirlooms that carry their story to the next generation of the Keahey family.
