We get asked constantly whether our tables can take real family use, and the honest answer is that solid hardwood is the only thing that can. A veneered top is finished once at the factory and when it wears through there is nothing under it. A solid oak top can be sanded and refinished by us, years from now, for a fraction of what a new table costs. That is the whole argument for Allen, and it is a true one.

If one came down in a storm, or one is coming out for a pool or an addition, we would rather look at the log than hear it went to the chipper. Bring it to our mill and we saw it, dry it in our kiln, and build it into the piece for the house it grew beside. Send us a photo first and we will tell you if there is a table in it.
